Terms for shoppers
The terms that apply when you buy on ADDPlus+ (draft for legal review).
Draft for legal review
This page is a draft. ADDPlus+’s advocate has not reviewed it yet, and it may change before ADDPlus+ takes payments. Where it and the way the site works differ, tell us through the contact form.
Last changed 30 September 2026
1. Who we are
ADDPlus+ is run by its founder, Kennedy Muritu, from Nairobi, Kenya. It is not yet a registered company. When the company is registered, these pages will name it and give its registration details.
In these terms, “ADDPlus+”, “we” and “us” mean the operator named above. “Seller” means the store you buy from.
2. What ADDPlus+ does, and who sells
ADDPlus+ runs the marketplace, collects your payment and holds it until the handover, then releases it to the seller or refunds it to you under these terms.
The seller sells the item to you. The seller sets the price, describes the item, and delivers it or hands it over at pickup. Your order and receipts say “Sold by” and the seller’s name.
3. Placing an order
Before you pay, the checkout shows each item, its price, each seller’s delivery or pickup option and fee, and the total. You can change or remove anything, or leave, before you tap Pay. If a price or stock changes while you check out, we show you the new figures and ask you to confirm them first.
Tapping Pay sends an M-Pesa prompt to the number you entered. The contract for each seller’s part is made when your payment is confirmed. We then email you a record of the order, with each seller’s handover code, and your order page keeps it.
You can print or save these terms from this page at any time.
Large orders may need to be split. If an order is more than ADDPlus+ can accept today, checkout says so before you pay, suggests paying for each seller separately, and keeps your cart.
4. Payment and how it is held
You pay by M-Pesa. The payment request goes through Pay Hero, a Kenyan payment company, and the money settles into a bank account at Equity Bank held for ADDPlus+ by its founder until the company is registered.
ADDPlus+ records every shilling it holds for your order in its own ledger. Your money is held for the seller and is not paid to them until it is released under section 6. It is not a deposit or a savings account and earns no interest.
ADDPlus+ is not a bank and is not licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya. [Advocate: confirm the correct description of this arrangement under the National Payment System Act and the wording to use here (LEG-01).]
5. Handover codes
You get a 6-digit handover code for each seller. Give it to the seller or rider only after you have the item in your hands and have checked it. Entering the code is the seller’s evidence that you received the item.
If you have the item and did not use the code, tap “I have received it” on the order page. If you do neither and report no problem, the order counts as handed over 10 days after the seller marks it sent.
6. Release to the seller
Your payment for a seller’s part is released to that seller 2 days after the handover, unless you have opened a dispute.
7. Cancelling and refunds
Before the seller accepts, you can cancel their part and be refunded in full. If the seller declines, or does not accept within 1 day, you are refunded in full.
After the seller accepts, you can cancel if the item has not been sent 2 days after the seller’s stated delivery or pickup time.
Refunds go to the M-Pesa number that paid. ADDPlus+ sends each refund by hand today and emails you its M-Pesa or bank reference.
Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2012 are not limited by these terms. That includes your right to cancel an internet agreement under sections 31 to 33 where the seller or ADDPlus+ has not given you the information or the copy those sections require. [Advocate: confirm how sections 31 to 33 apply, including whether the prescribed amount in section 30(4) has been set.]
8. Using ADDPlus+
Use your own email address and M-Pesa number. Do not buy from your own store, try to get a code or a refund you are not owed, or post reviews for orders you did not make. We may suspend an account that does.
Reviews must be about the order, honest, and free of other people’s personal details. We may hide a review that is not, and we say why.
9. What we are responsible for
The seller is responsible for the item: that it is what they described, legal to sell and genuine. ADDPlus+ is responsible for holding and releasing or refunding your payment as these terms say, and for deciding disputes fairly.
[Advocate: limitation of liability, governing law (Kenya) and dispute resolution clauses to be drafted.]
10. Changes and contact
If we change these terms, the version that applied when you paid still applies to that order.
